Recently, while perusing anthro's new blog I found this video from tiger in a jar.  It's a lovely little thing and, since I have been interested in old fashioned baking techniques, I thought I would give this recipe a try.  Ultimately, the recipe as it stands is much too earthy.  I do want to try it again but with less beet and perhaps more chocolate.

walking onions

The walking onions are going mad in the garden.  I had to clear some out because they were taking over the strawberry patch, although the strawberries seem to love being in close proximity to this particular allium.  The bushes are so glossy and the flowers are numerous and adorable.  Fingers crossed that I get the berries before the crows do.
